White Trails, Quiet Wonders

It was a beautiful day for hiking at Elk Island. The day began below freezing, but it gradually warmed up. It almost made me forget that winter is only just leaving. The beautiful Astotin Lake remained as stunning as ever, though it was still fully covered with snow, making it hard to distinguish between land and water.
The hiking trails were lovely, blanketed with snowflakes. Everything felt so peaceful and deeply inspiring. Getting away from the city, driving through forests clothed in white, walking beside the water, crossing the rail over the lake, seeing the snow-covered beaver dam standing quietly, and walking among the trees while stepping in and out of deep snow made the experience unforgettable.
We saw a coyote, herds of bison, and heard the music of many different birds. We also met an amazing couple with a massive camera, capturing the day’s beauty and preserving special moments. As we talked about the beauty around us, our conversation naturally turned to the beauty and power of God, whose signature is evident everywhere. No science or human intelligence can create this kind of wonder; it is the power of God
