The River We Are

It was the homepage of my workplace highlight that popped up with the upcoming International Women’s Day. Unlike before, it resonated with me in a special way. When I got home and began reflecting on women, thoughts flowed ceaselessly through my mind, so I started writing. Thus, the article below was born.
The River We Are
Being a woman transcends borders—
we are daughters, sisters, mothers, and friends. We are builders of homes, shapers of nations, warriors of resilience, bearers of light.Across lands and cultures, we rise—
unstoppable, unwavering, unbreakable.
We are strong within, beautiful without,
carrying burdens both seen and unseen—
those of men, of children, of the world itself.
Wired to follow, yet destined to lead, we take unimaginable risks, fueled by hope.
Life’s purpose calls to us daily, through thick and thin, we answer. Like a river, we flow—through narrow paths and winding roads, through calm waters and restless waves.

Sometimes, we are clear, serene, unwavering. Other times, we rage, unsettled, steeped in storms. We slip over rocks, rush through muddy clay, and plunge into depths unsearchable.
Yet in pain, we find courage.
In weakness, we rise with strength.
We break, we build, we live, we empower.
We cry, we laugh, we sing—we do it all because God is our everything.
At times, we forget our own strength.
The world sometimes remembers Eve, the vulnerable. But God sees us as we truly are—souls, daughters, His creations.
Like Deborah, we lead with wisdom.
Like Esther, we rise with boldness.
Like Ruth, we walk in loyalty.
Like Hanna, we pray down Samuel
Like Mary, we carry purpose within.
We are women, woven with grace,
flowing ever onward—a river, unstoppable.
Happy International Women Day
