The Decline of Evangelistic Zeal: Causes and Reflections

Pastor Dav got me thinking when he spoke on that topic and shared those statistics.
My Thoughts on Why the Shift:
Disobedience to the heavenly mission
Declining intensity of evangelism
Prioritizing worldly concerns over living out God’s Word
The impact of excessive comfort
The challenge of wisdom-driven, God-centered parenting
The infiltration of churches by business-minded individuals, popularity seekers, traditionalists, and even agents of the enemy—rather than God-minded people
While some religions have a long-term strategy focused on multiplication through reproduction, Christianity is taking for granted the call to multiply through evangelism.
How impactful would it be if more of God’s servants were like pastor W.F. Kumuyi—never losing focus on evangelism and holiness? At nearly 84 years old, he has stepped beyond the church he founded to reach as many as possible all over the continent of the world, taking the gospel worldwide and defending the truth. Meanwhile, many believers are busy defending their churches, pastors, traditions, and personal church rights.
Yes, Christianity is the largest religion in the world at 31% of the world’s population, which equates to about 2.4 billion adherents. Despite this substantial representation, the focus of Christianity extends beyond numerical dominance. It emphasizes the salvation of souls and the fulfillment of each individual’s divine purpose.
Believers are called to be true ambassadors of Christ, actively engaging in evangelism and embodying the principles of their faith. This commitment ensures that the essence of Christianity is preserved and passed on to future generations, reinforcing the importance of living and sharing the truth.
God will never forget our labor of love. If we haven’t started yet, we must begin somewhere. We must not be ashamed of the truth, what we believe, and what we stand for. If we do not value it, our children will not see the need for it—and whoever controls their minds will shape the generations to come.
We must not disappoint God. Let us share the truth, live the truth, and pass it on to our children. We do our part and leave the rest to God. May heaven rejoice over every soul that turns to Him.
