A Prayer for Our Children

Heavenly Father,

We thank You for the tender hearts of our children, which continue to grow as they learn in school and interact with their teachers and peers. We believe that these hearts will shape who they become and the impact they will have on the world around them.

Lord, we humbly ask that You guard the hearts of our children from every form of evil. Grant parents the grace to remain watchful and diligent in guiding their children, despite the many demands of life. Fill them with Your Spirit and empower them to continually speak life and Your Word into the lives of their children.

Strengthen teachers, Lord, that they may never compromise their calling. Help them to labor faithfully for the well-being of these children, and remember to richly reward their love and sacrifice.

We also pray for the nations of the world. May leaders and societies recognize the priceless value of children’s lives and remain vigilant against the schemes of the enemy. In every attempt at negative influence, give us the wisdom to discern the truth and the courage to stand firmly for what is right.

Expose and frustrate every plan of the enemy, O Lord. Watch over our children as we dedicate them to Your righteousness, covering them with the precious blood of Jesus.

We confess, Lord, that we cannot do this without You. Keep our children safe—emotionally, intellectually, morally, physically, and spiritually.
