Is Tithe & Offering Really Necessary?
The debate over the necessity of paying tithes has sparked diverse opinions. However, it’s clear that without tithes and offerings, many churches might struggle to sustain their activities. While some pastors misuse church funds for personal gain, others remain dedicated to spreading the gospel, supporting missionaries, and covering operational costs. Accountability is key—if a church or its leaders lack transparency in administration, they may also fall short in nurturing spiritual growth of their members. Rather than opposing the invisible church’s mission, we might want to consider finding a church where God is genuinely prioritized.
Believers must be cautious not to unknowingly support the enemy’s attempts to crush the church. The church still relies on the financial support of its faithful and godly members. We must work together, regardless of denominational differences, and remember Jesus’ prayer for the church’s unity. It is certain that the gates of hell will not prevail against the church. Therefore, we must choose our side carefully and be mindful of our actions when it comes to the church of God. The church is a divine mystery, greater than any individual, and deeply spiritual—a truth even the enemy recognizes.
Whatever we give to God is never in vain. There are many ways also to support the gospel/financially. Jesus still honors even the widow’s mite, smallest offerings, or offering of ourselves and services, knowing the sincerity of our hearts and intentions.
May God bless and strengthen our true, dynamic, active, God’s centric chuches in Jesus’ name
Every man, according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7
